Basic wedding cake course

A three week course for students who already have a knowledge of baking a good sponge and fruit cake. This course introduces you to covering cakes with sugar paste icing. A single tier is cake is produced and sugar roses are made for the top decoration. Students at this level are required to purchase their own tools. A dummy cake is used and this can be used as a sample to show prospective clients what you are capable of. Once the basic course is done a student who is interested will progress to the intermediate wedding cake course.
